Tardis lands in Paisley?????

Its true, at approximately 12.20pm , Saturday 28th July 2007, the Tardis was found in Paisley Museum, along with a papiermache Dalek, and a whole exhibition to boot. The place was full of lots of small animated children, talking excitedly, and with the passion only normally seen in Football Managers. Discussions were heated, frank views exchanged, and new monsters were drawn ! Tantrums were thrown when it was time to leave, and it took at least two hours to calm down (when the next Dr Who rerun was due on TV!)
Had David Tennant, the present (10th) Dr Who shown up, First Aid may have been required ! Not a bad looking chappie is David Tennant, and from Paisley too ..... but I digress . I fear I am turning into my mother, although in my day it was the "Tom Baker is a fine actor etc. etc.", as I hid behind the sofa .
I had a stiff drink of wine last night to help recover after the excitement. Then I stroked my colinette parisienne, read the book, stroked it again, and went to bed!
Here they are, not a very good picture, granted, but you get the idea !
I am trying out my new macbook with the battery and wireless connection from the bedroom, its great! Haven't quite had enough time to play about with all the different things yet, like itunes, iweb, garagebands ??? (don't ask, but it has a nice guitar icon)
Don't seem to have much energy this weather, I think it may be summer holidays/harassed mother syndrome. When it picks up again, I am going to do a wee list of ethical/eco-friendly sites, and expand my blog list too .
I visited Bolshie last week, in Glasgows West End - its kinda a wee bit down Bank street, which is just off Great Western Road (not far from Kelvinbridge) . Its a lovely wee shop, with a little cafe area, Mens/Womens organic/enviromentally-friendly/fairtrade Clothing and shoes, accessories (bags made from recycled cartons etc.), a really good selection of organic/fairtrade fabric which you can buy, or asked to be made up to a design. I really recommend it, and thanks to Julia for giving me the details. I don't have a web link for it just now, but am looking into it .
Yawn! And so to bed...

Trying it out for size...

okay, got the firefox up and running, so am trying things out. Don't have all the stuff from my old computer on here yet, so may try something new, like photobooth....
You likey??? I can basically take a photo AT my computer now, as well as downloading ones from my camera! Good Eh! Has lots of special effects like the one above . Have also set up a new web page on the mac (its a macwebpage!), not much on it yet, but will show a link when I do.
Was visiting my new little niece yesterday, she is a wee cutie, and I got lots of cuddles. Was able to show her mummy some mummy tricks (winding, putting to sleep etc etc. , the sort I wished someone showed me when I was a new mum!) Could have brought her home, except her mummy wanted her to stay (spoilsport), and I have two wee hooligans running riot here already, don't think I can cope with three!
Well, am off to catch up on some blog reading, before bed, Yawn!!

Its a Mac

Got the new Macbook - but the old Macs okay, for the time being. Will need to sort out my internet provider cos the new mac doesn't do what the old one does yet! Getting my peruvian highland yarn for the pinwheel sweater soon - yippee, also got some lovely pariesienne for a sweater too. (Shhh, don't tell hubby!) Speak to you soon.

4 years loyal service....

and never a problem until now! My trusty applemac has given up the ghost, but hopefully the kind folk at 3Sys in Clydeback will be able to breath some life into it (yep! I never put my photo's on disk - fingers crossed I'll get them back!)
Am borrowing my sisters laptop (thanks sis!) but probably won't be posting again until I get a) my applemac fixed or b) a new apple ipad (I am lusting after this - but don't tell my trusty old applemac!)Just a thought, whats 4 years in computer years , about 72!
Not much knitting going on just now, just lots of entertaining of small children - its exhausting. Still the possibility of visiting John Lewis soon ( a parents dream of a store ) is keeping me going.
*Sigh* no sunny photos to cheer me up - lets hope its sunny tomorrow.

And this is why....

I like Majorca!
Clean Sandy Beaches - keeps the kids entertained for hours .
Nice white buildings set against a blue sky, notice the Palm Trees, they only grow in HOT places.
Typical Majorcan architecture - and notice, its DRY! That means Sun (and no rain!)
Yes, I've been on Holiday , and it was too short. Although it nearly didn't happen at all, given the events at Glasgow Airport . By the time we were leaving for holiday, all that was left was a 3 hour delay, and the smell of burning rubber. By the time we got back, some bare whiteboards covering the walls where glass doors used to be .
It wasn't quite knitting weather, but I did try, and try, and try. Middle Eastern Wrap cast-on for a toe up sock. Does ANYONE know how to do this ? Cos I sure don't, I just end up with a mess .
Had a trip into Palma , and couldn't resist this photo when I saw the name of the shop - KNIT . Apologies for the glare, this is what happens when someone as pale as me goes into the Sun!
The items sold were plain old cotton knitted sweaters, not very interesting .
One of the nice things about going on holiday, is that there is very little cooking, cleaning, laundry, housework, everything really. Its a total switch off. But once I arrive back from the airport, its WHAM, back to normal 100 mile an hour stuff. So while I've had a lovely relaxing time, the 18 loads of laundry, entertaining the kids while its raining, housework , cooking, etc etc. is a bit of the shock to the system. There will probably be only short posts for a while. Oh, and some photo's of sun to keep me cheerful .
